The State Accreditation Committee informs that the M.Sc. program in biology successfully passed (rating - positive) the evaluation of the quality of teaching and verification of the compliance with the requirements for higher-education degree programmes.
2002
The Certificate of Quality of Education from the Conference of Presidents of Polish Universities (due to recommendation of the University Accreditation Comission).
1999
Andrzej Myrcha Museum of Nature is opened.
1997
Ph.D. granting rights are gained.
1990
The second specialization is launched - environmental biology.
1989
The Department of Biology becomes the Institute of Biology.
1988
The Dept. of Biology is moving into a new building at Świerkowa 20 B.
1986
The field station in Gugny (Biebrza River Valley) is created.

First students are awarded a master's degree.

The Biology Students Scientific Circle starts its activity.
1976
The Department of Biology at the Warsaw University, Branch in Bialystok is established.
